Digital Migration

The DTT service offers an enriched and immersive viewing experience, boasting a variety of advanced features such as high-definition broadcasting, user-friendly electronic program guides, and numerous interactive services. Specifically designed to cater to the diverse needs of over 14 million television households across South Africa, this service ensures that premium digital television is not only accessible in urban centers but also reaches audiences in remote and underserved areas.

Mhaise is proud to be contracted for the installation of DTT, DTH, and IDTV systems throughout South Africa, playing a vital role in ensuring that these DTT services are both robust and widely available. Our efforts are focused on facilitating a smooth and effective transition from analogue to digital broadcasting, in support of the nationwide initiative for Analogue Switch-Off. Through our comprehensive DTT offering, Mhaise is committed to transforming the television landscape in South Africa by providing universal access to digital television. This initiative ultimately enhances the overall viewing experience for all users, allows for a greater range of content options, and elevates the quality of entertainment available to television audiences across the nation.

ICT

South Africa boasts a well-established and highly sophisticated information and communication technology (ICT) sector, which is recognized as the largest and most advanced on the African continent. This dynamic sector places a significant emphasis on various critical areas, including mobile software development, electronic banking solutions, and robust cybersecurity measures. As of 2023, the ICT market in South Africa is valued at an impressive US$ 34.90 billion. Furthermore, projections indicate substantial growth, with estimates suggesting that this figure could rise to approximately US$ 48.71 billion by the year 2028. This upward trajectory reflects the increasing demand for innovative technological solutions and services throughout the region.

Infrastructure

South Africa’s ambitious infrastructure build programme is rapidly gaining momentum, thanks in large part to the dedicated efforts of the Infrastructure Fund and Infrastructure South Africa. These organizations have been established with the crucial objective of supporting and facilitating strategic infrastructure projects that are vital for the country's development and economic growth.

However, one of the most significant challenges facing infrastructure investment is the pervasive shortage of technical skills and project management capacity within the country. This skills gap has hindered progress and deterred potential investments in key projects. To effectively address this pressing issue, Infrastructure South Africa has been allocated a substantial budget of R600 million specifically for project preparation in rural and under-resourced areas. This funding is aimed at enhancing the capabilities and skills necessary for successful project implementation.

The support mechanisms and strategic planning initiatives that the government has diligently put in place over the past several years are now beginning to show positive results. As a consequence, we are witnessing an increase in public investment directed towards infrastructure development, which is essential for driving economic growth and improving the quality of life for South Africans across the nation. As the programme continues to advance, further progress can be anticipated in the vital area of infrastructure development.
